Spring 2017 Class Schedule

All classes begin at 10am and are located at the nursery unless indicated otherwise. Space is limited so please be sure to register.

A minimum of 8 attendees is needed for a class, otherwise the class may be canceled.

Saturday morning gardening classes at Shooting Star Nursery in Central Point, Oregon includes coffee, snacks, and sandbox to entertain the kids

~During classes there will also be a sandbox for the kids, coffee and refreshments (children are still under parents' supervision).

*Permaculture- Planting a Fruit Tree Guild

Join permaculture expert and local landscape designer Andy Fischer of Sacred Earth Design/Build (LCB 9271) in this hands on class. We have a new patio area that will be planted using permaculture principles- where everything has multiple uses and plants are arranged to benefit the entire community.  We'll design and plant the space to provide fruit, build soil, attract pollinators and be a beautiful sitting area.

Landscapers- this class qualifies for 2 hours of CEH credit

Registration fee-$15

Bring the kids to craft something from the heart and garden for their mom. We will be painting pots and letting the kids choose a plant to fill it with.  Supplies will be limited to the amount of participants registered so be sure to register early. The class is from 10am- noon only. Feel free to come anytime during that time period.

*How to Grow and Use Herbs in the Garden

Herbs are some of the easiest and most useful plants to grow in your garden. Most of them are deer resistant and drought tolerant and we will show you some of the best ones to grow in the Rogue Valley. Our herb expert, Rhonda will also show you what to do with them in cooking, drying, and for medicinal purposes.
